The Department of Asian American Studies presents the 11th Annual Balgopal Lecture on Human Rights and Asian Americans. Vivek Bald, Associate Professor of Comparative Media Studies and Writing at MIT, will draw upon both past and ongoing historical research that display times in which Asian Americans have been simultaneously celebrated and belittled, and how the “model minority” is a reality in America.
