Matthew A. Taylor

Matthew A. Taylor is an associate professor in the Department of English & Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he works on the intersections among 19th– and 20th-century science, literature, and philosophy in a transatlantic context. His articles have appeared or are forthcoming in such journals as PMLA, ALH, J19, Novel, ELH, and Nineteenth-Century Literature, and his first book, Universes without Us: Posthuman Cosmologies in American Literature, was published by the University of Minnesota Press. With Priscilla Wald, he is a co-editor of the journal American Literature.
