Join Dr. Jack Caraves as he discusses his first book project Trans Gestures: Regulation, Embodiment, and Care Work in Trans Latinx Lives. The book tackles such topics as gender variance, trans gender identity, and queer sexuality and how it shapes migration, familial relationships, and life in Los Angeles. Dr. Caraves will examine the lives of trans Latina/o/xs as they transition and challenge the confines of cis-heteronormative racialized gender binary identities.
