This special presentation is being held in conjunction with Spurlock Museum’s Sewn in Memory: AIDS Quilt Panels from Central Illinois exhibit. This presentation will showcase some experts sharing the first local responses to the AIDS pandemic, the mobilization of public health, a screening of some oral histories from those at the from line of the crisis, and Jerry Carden (co-founder of GCAP); Mike Benner (current Executive Director of GCAP); and Julie Pryde (Public Health Administrator, Champaign-Urbana Public Health District) will speak to the audience about the exhibit and history surrounding it.
